The Design Principles of Mechanical Parts!

1. The general process of new products from design and development to market sales:

It is roughly divided into four parts: product planning stage, scheme design stage, technical design stage and design and processing document preparation stage.


2. Working capacity and calculation criteria of mechanical parts

The loss of a mechanical part's specified function is called failure. The limit to which a part can work within a specified period without failure is called the part's working capacity. Usually this limit refers to the load, so it is also called the load-bearing capacity.

When designing mechanical parts, it is necessary to analyze the causes of failure according to the failure forms of the parts, propose measures to prevent or reduce failure, and propose different design calculation criteria according to different failure forms. The design calculation criteria for mechanical parts can be summarized as follows:

Strength criterion: stress ≤ allowable stress;

Stiffness criterion: deformation ≤ allowable deformation;

Wear resistance criterion: pressure ≤ allowable pressure;


3. General process of mechanical parts design:

Select the type or structure of the part according to its use requirements;

Select appropriate materials and heat treatment methods according to the working conditions and special requirements of the parts;

Determine the load acting on the parts according to the working conditions of the parts (including establishing a mechanical model, performing load analysis and calculation, considering the influence of various factors on the load, and determining the calculated load of the parts);

According to the possible failure modes of the parts, determine the calculation criteria, and calculate and determine the basic dimensions of the parts;

Carry out structural design of parts according to the requirements of processability and standardization;

When necessary, parts should be checked and calculated;

Draw working drawings of parts;


4. Design principles that need to be paid attention to in product design:

Simplify the function or shape of a part;

To maximize the standardization, generalization and serialization of products;

Try to make the material grades, types and specifications specified in the design drawings consistent with the use of existing materials;

Combine the rough process and processing technology more effectively;

Determine the rationality of process design based on the processing technology, operating rules and related information currently used in normal production of the enterprise;

Choose dimensional tolerances and surface roughness that can be guaranteed by mature processing technology;
