2mm thick cold-rolled 304 stainless steel plate (raw material), placed outdoors in the sun and rain, will it rust for a long time? If there is rust, how long will it take to develop extensive rust spots?
What if it's indoors? What will be the result?
(Assuming that it is inland, there is no special strong acid and alkali environment ~)
Also want to ask, (martensitic) stainless steel even if the surface protective layer is scratched, will soon form a new protective film is it?
If so, theoretically it should not rust even if it is exposed to the sun and rain all year long. (The acid and alkaline substances in general areas, rain and air are not too strong.)
